Amid hills covered with vineyards and small churches, a route full of surprises.
From the cemetery of Gozzano, follow the indications for Auzate until you reach the church, then take the downhill track, cross the Grua stream and continue toward Soriso. When you reach the summit, turn left and go downhill toward the cemetery until you reach the centre of Gargallo, near the oratory. Then go uphill, cross the stream and enter the forest until you come to the main road. After the bridge, the road goes up the Colombano hill. Follow the indications for Cascina Convento posted near the church and the oratory. At the fork, stay to the right to reach Barbarana. After passing Cascina Carlottina, turn left to go uphill and then descend to the centre of Cureggio and then to Borgomanero. From the town centre, you will transit on the overpass and pass the fire station. Go straight on and thereafter turn left near a curve. Continue on the dirt road, then on the “Divisione Garibaldi” road. Staying to the right, continue toward Cascina Pizzarini and on to the Church of San Tommaso. Go downhill to the centre of the Briga town, and then go right to the summit of the San Colombano hill. Turn onto the steep mule track to reach the bottom of the hill, go to the crossroads beyond the square; turn left toward Gozzano and the starting point.
