The western Ticino basin (Novara province): from Arona, through the morainic hills of Verbania to Pombia and the Park of the Ticino Valley.
From the station of Arona, turn right to take the road for Dormelletto. Follow provincial route 151 that passes above the built-up area and intersects provincial route 30 at the Bergamina farmstead. Here, following to the right, pass through Comignago to reach state route 32, where you turn right again and then immediately to the left onto provincial route 24. After passing under the motorway, take the left inside the Bosco Solivo Natural Reserve to reach Borgo Ticino. Cross the town and take the road to the left. After 400 metres, turn right onto the dirt road toward the locality of Cascinetta di Varallo Pombia, and go to Pombia from there. From the built-up area, continue downhill on provincial route 148 toward San Giorgio until you reach the Ticino Park area. From San Giorgio go to the Baraggiola farmstead. Continue for about 1 km more and then turn left onto the road that first enters Loreto and then descends to Molino di Marano. The dirt road will bring you to regional route 527 that you will follow to the left. Following the indications for European long distance path E1, you will reach Mulino di Bellinzago and the service area at the La Presa locality, from where you can reach the Bellinzago Torinese train station.
For your return, it is best to inquire in advance about train schedules and the possibility to load bicycles on board.
