From Lake Mergozzo to the capital of Ossola, passing by the quarries that supplied the marble to build the cathedral of Milan.
Follow the bike path that runs parallel to state route 34 until you reach the roundabout where the path forks: left to a branch that goes to Lake Mergozzo and right to the route that reaches the Toce river. Take the branch to the right. To the left the path goes to the natural reserve of the cane thickets of the lower Toce, the bike path that goes to the train station of Domodossola, with a few passages on roads with car traffic.
For your return, it is best to inquire in advance about train schedules and the possibility to load bicycles on board.
At the footbridge of Ornavasso, you can return to the starting point by following the path on the right bank.
